Free online education

Of course, as I will be doing from the previous post on. Click the title to get to the website that I will be posting about.

The guy who built this site, really made my learning life easier. Being a lifelong learner, sometimes depending on my distractions and what else is going on in my life, its hard to retain information. And many times, I just really enjoy learning and reading. This site, provides all the resources and free resources at that to do so FREE. You can learn about blogging, how to type faster, free education, free quiz creator, learning French resources, educational stuff, and the list COMPLETELY GOES ON.
I highly recommend this site in any way, shape, form, or , fashion that you check the site out. Good Luck and till another post, Satori

Free E-BOOKS

Here is site that is of great use. There are free e-books ranging from Teens, Travel, Science Fiction, Romance, Religion and Spirituality, Reference, Professional and Technical, nonfiction, mystery and thrillers, medicine, home and garden, lesbian and gay, engineering, computer and graphics, so many more useful titles that could come in handy and best of all it's free. You will need Adobe, or some other site to see some of the books, but amazing site. For some reason I cant put a link for you to click on. I apologize for the inconvenience. So click on the title and it will take you to the site.

If you are learning

There is a site called quizlet. It was created by a 17 year old high school kid, bless his soul. This site really helped me study for an exam in sociology that I had coming up. It is mainly used for learning vocabulary, foreign languages, etc. The site promotes the saying "the end of flashcards." Here is a clip from the site's front page.
Here's how it works:

1. You enter a vocabulary list of any words or data you want. (ex. SAT words, history dates, French-Spanish translations, etc.)
2. Quizlet gives you a specialized learning mode, flashcards, randomly-generated tests, and collaboration tools for classmates to help you study those words.
3. You ace your test.

Here are some neat features:

1. Quizlet keeps track of the words you know and only retests you on the ones you don't.
2. You can share your word sets with classmates and get email notification when others make sets for you.
3. You can import words from a file without having to retype them into Quizlet.
4. Quizlet has accent buttons for typing letters in foreign languages.
5. You can discuss sets (and gossip about teachers!) with classmates via instant discussion boxes.
6. Quizlet works in any language. If you can type it into your keyboard, you can study it on Quizlet.

For women of course

I may be seriously wrong for posting this site, but for Ladies that have to walk on campus after hours, I do. And it would seriously come in handy for the walks to the car and in some cities. But you can get a self defense chart, and something else, have yet to see the entire package of what's involved. How to protect yourself using common items, etc. My mother ordered one and so did I, because we are often on the road or out at night alone, whether traveling or walking to the car and putting groceries in the car. It could come in handy, if not, I suggest you run.
Here is the site to check out. Self-defense

Cheaper Textbooks

This site proved really helpful for me, as I knew that it existed but couldn't find it.
the site is called Chegg, and it's local students selling whatever really. But mainly there are electronics, computers, and what I was looking for Textbooks.

I love this site, really really do. Because I couldn't afford the books from all of my classes in the campus bookstore and after getting 75% of them from this site, I saved over 500 dollars. Good Luck and happy Chegging. lol, that was so gay, but you know what I mean.

Get a free Razor

If you come back and ask me how do I find this stuff, I have repeated and said in many of my blogs, I am a link collector and when I get the time, I go back and visit these sites or check for certain things. Plus, I have a program that verifies most of this stuff. I have received my items/offers, etc from most of these sites. I have yet to get my WIFI router, but it's on the way.

Here is a site where you can put in for a contest and also a free razor, Im unsure what gender the razor is geared towards. But here is the site, some of these are only open for a certain amount of time.
And I am a big extreme sports fan so..Good Luck..Satori

still in beta

I recently joined AGLOCO because of a friend recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept.

AGLOCO’s story is simple:

Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf. How much of that money are you making? NONE!

AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.

AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube’s users did not get paid for!

AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.

AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they’re building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube. But instead of that wealth making only a few people rich, the entire community will get its share.

What's the catch? No catch - no spyware, no pop-ups and no spam - membership and software are free and AGLOCO is 100% member owned. Privacy is a core value and AGLOCO never sells or rents member information.

The interracial blog

The interracial blog is now at a different url. I have been writing the posts over time, and had planned to copy and paste them here one by one, but it will be published shortly at a different blog address. So, look forward to seeing some of the responses, discussions, suggestions are welcome. Topics that you would like to know about are also. Thank you for your patience and your comments.

Since it's MLK day

I have had so many ideas cross my mind to write about, unfortunately it is while I'm driving and cant get a pen and paper quick enough since I drive a manual. As much as I have avoided it, I am going to set up a few posts on the "how" I started interracial dating.
Today is Martin Luther King Day and its only proper that I dive into this topic, remember his speech. My mother always said that I "can baffle 'em with brilliance and fool 'em with BS." But this will be the raw, uncut version of the topic.

I think that it will be interesting to generate some ideas, comments, and whatever else I get flowing out of my mind into my fingertips, cant promise that it will be good. Do remember my post back in December, the disclaimer, if not go and take a look at it.
But once I figure out a good place to start, you will get a few doses of my life, interracial dating, dating outside your race, dating other ethnicity's, cant give too many doses in one day, even I may get sick.
Maybe I will have the cajones to tell it all in one day. Probably will as I have alot. Not feeling to well today, but thou asketh, thou shalt receive. So, put on your jock straps and sports bra's its going to be a nice, bumpy ride..lol

always when you least expect it

I was given the news that my cousin is pregnant. This is the cousin that we always thought would probably never have kids, because of medical problems that unfortunately run in our family. Having the same medical problems, I chose to not aggressively attempt to treat mine at a younger age. And now as well, because of the fear of never being able to have another child. I have the dream of having another baby, would love to give my husband-future husband- a child. I have an 11 year old, that I gave birth to at 16, with my mother being the 'control freak' she is, the experience of motherhood was never something that was offered for me.
When my mother told me, I had chills run down my body, I was and still am soo excited for her, Im even threatening her to sit down and rest or else from 300 miles away almost but still. For a few years they had been trying to conceive, did one round of fertility drugs, which we all just remembered 5 minutes ago..and we joked about the nightmares and scary times if she did have twins, it was all a good laugh. Her brother screamed when she called him at work, her younger brother, almost passed out. But we are all in the end soo happy for her, I cant say I could picture her as a mother, possibly because we believed that it was something that would never happen maybe. I dont know, but I am so anxious and excited, and antsy for her moment. They stopped trying to conceive, her husband told her "maybe you need to go test yourself because babe, you're being pretty mean and you're eating everything." And wouldnt you know. Here comes baby, or two. Her mother, my aunt, said noooo ONE HEALTHY BABY!! They have also forgot twins run in our family-my mothers a twin, and fertility drugs, hmm, its not looking too good. But still its exciting to see someone else's dream come true when they least expected it.

EXPOSED!!!

YEARS ago, I dated a guy, okay he was a companion, because dating him would have been not too smart, who we will call unexposed. What is the deal people? seriously please?!! Here's the story, I had a dinner party to attend, so I took him to the mall with me..Let me describe the scene so that you can feel like you are there..Close your eyes, okay keep one eye open so you can read this, but close 'em--Im telling him about the people I will be meeting at the party, and being chatty because I am excited, yet trying to keep my composure and not jump up and down. The smells of the stomach curdling mandarin food is floating by my nose and making my mouth water and not in a good way, the popcorn is screaming to get to my hips and thighs, and Im running to get to the quiet floor. I see the escalator and take him by the arm to make our way there. As we get to the escalator a lady jumps in front of us, and as she does I swear she let some air seep out of her butt and smells like it wasnt just air, thats what she gets for being rude I GUESS. As I am putting my foot out to step onto the moving incline, I let go of his hand, thinking that he is right behind me. I am riding up the escalator with my nose curled up, really pissed at the lady ahead of us for being so 'stankin', and turn to speak to my companion and I'll be damned, his ass is still at the bottom looking at the escalator stairs as they pass by trying to figure out which one to jump on. OMG!! what did I get myself into. As the escalator is about to suck me into the turnbuckle because I forget to step off since Im too busy laughing and trying to figure out if he is really from the 2000 era..I will be honest it does cross my mind to leave his ass there staring at the escalator turnbuckle, I could swear he is counting them...Gentleman and Ladies, there is a thing called
being UNEXPOSED!!! Where you stay in your home and watch TV and you have never seen or done half of anything..please dont allow yourself to be a hobbit, caveman or woman, or be standing at the bottom of the escalator while your companions are laughing at you and trying to figure out how to leave your ass behind please..Needless to say, I had to tell him about himself, I asked questions first, then I had to tell him..There is just no reason for HARDLY anyone to still be in those times..
So, expose yourself, or at least freaking know or be familiar with things and act like you know how to use them even if you cut off your own finger-literally speaking there..peace,love and till another post..will be in a few hours though

ARE YOU READY??!!!!!

We have so far had so many things that have happened since the beginning of the New Year..are they worth mentioning in all honesty? Some are, some are not..On January 1st, I committed to believing in my mind and heart that 2006 would only be a blurry and very very foggy memory that I learned valuable lessons from. Mistakes I would not repeat, people I hope to never see, family who I will allow to no longer use, mistreat, manipulate,or any other thing/act a family member isnt supposed to do to someone they love...
To live, fully live, is to fully embrace "CHANGE"...That is something that I believe, we get used to things the way that they are, we feel secure with how our situation is and we are left afraid of what we dont know or are unfamiliar with..Why should we? You can't live, you can't breathe, you can't FULLY LIVE!! You will only know what you see on TV, you will only know what you read in books, you will only live each day to see, feel, think, taste what you have day in and day out felt, thought, tasted, did, acted, and my dears, what is the point.?
Why not step outside your comfort zone, step outside of what for 10 years, 25 years, or 50 years, you have always known, and see what it feels like to really be free, to really feel, to experience something different..Im not saying go cheat on your spouse, steal, rob, kill, USE COMMON SENSE please..Go skydiving, go hiking, cook something you have never made before and laugh when you half ass burn up the kitchen and still smell that stuff a week later..And laugh, laugh at yourself, dont always take yourself so seriously, and dont believe everything you hear and read..just take from it what applies to yourself and be happy..Dont let someone else decide your fate, your joy, your sadness, your pain, your tears for you..ITS YOUR TIME...NEW YEAR, NEW YOU..a good song, Tim McGraw 'live like you were dying'

RESOLUTIONS

I was watching television tonight..Entertainment TONIGHT to be exact..and they were speaking of New Years Resolutions, they were asking stars or those who are infamous- Kevin Federline was one, dont really remember what he said..But, Sharon Stone who is somewhat admirable said the most compelling thing about resolutions, I dont make them because I try to work on myself contiunously..
I was saying to myself Amen sister!
I attempted to make a resolution one year, I did say attempt..But I didnt get to the 2nd day of January and it was all out the window. I actually forget about it till the next new years eve..
I have alot of plans for the year and contiuously working on myself and ways I can improve who I am, what Im doing, even when Im tired of 'myself' working. To know your assets, your faults, and what you most definitely dont possess and should, is to humbly submit yourself to the pressure of life, society, an occasional self butt kicking, to struggle but see the brighter side, to be optimistic when you are thinking negatively, to cry and pick yourself up, to fall and get back up with dignity or even some shame..To really know who you are, where you stand, what you are, and who you are not!
There are alot of things that I am not, and Im not talking about the 'I dont steal or lie' not's. For example, Im not as sympathetic as I should be, I dont have the heart to be a nurse, yet I know I would get emotionally attached to sick children and their families..I know Im lacking that emotion that most nurses have..I said most! I know that I cant draw a stick man, but I can as my mother puts it, baffle em with brilliance and fool 'em with B.S., Ive always wondered if that was good! I can write a research paper that would sear the depths of hell and really only read half of the material...
I know that I can talk to anyone and get along with anyone if they are sane or at least medicated for insanity, thats not always good, end up talking too long to strangers in Walmart or the gas station! I know what Im good at, what Im not, what Im willing to learn, and what just 'AINT' happening!
I have big plans for the year, goals that I would like to meet, things and places that I would like to do, well see for the places..lol
I have been saying for weeks that I am going to write today, Im going to write..Now that Christmas is over with and most of the dramatic soap opera moments are rolling their credits, today is a new day,and a new post tomorrow..I need a good end line..Sorry for the ramble, random thoughts, and I hope the moral of the story can be found in there somewhere..
ALSO: I sincerely thank all of you who have sent comments to me about the blog, it is greatly appreciated especially knowing that someone gets my sense of humor, my stories, the moral, the line, and the skinny of the long drawn out version..Thank you very much!

when we think of...

When we think of Christmas what do we really expect? I know we have the religious meaning of when Christ was born..But as asociety, what do we expect right now? We are at war, our economy is supposedly rising but most of us are struggling to make amends after forking out half a kidney when nothing was everything..So what do we expect..Its bad when we have to work extra hours to get our child that expensive game-psp, wii, ps3 or whatever..its even worse when you cant afford it right?..do we expect to be able to get everyone a gift..what about those who are recovering from last years devastations? What about those that have no idea where their family may be..what about the people who have no one to visit them...or feel like no one even gives a rats arse about them..
Its very hard for me to get into the holiday spirit as I have had a rough year..But I do so for my son..and for those around me, for those that are less fortunate..for those who I know could have it alot worse than myself..While many of us whine about not getting that BIG RING, PRADA Bag, or that vacation to Fiji we wanted..Guess what, Its been years since I received a gift..and didnt get one this year..In all honesty, it would have been nice, I probably would have cried, because of the thought that someone thought about me..
Being a single mom,its hard as hell, have my parents to help me out, and theyve been there even when I really WANT to do it myself and most of the time I will..But I do receive my gift every day that I wake up and see his smile,or listen to him sing some song that I cant get out of my head for a week, or sad to say when the cat is running from him and he's yelling Baby dont leave, I'll change..Or see him do the D-Generation X thingy from Wresting and pass gas..He would so die if he saw this..and disclaimer never said my family was normal..Last night we were almost peeing on ourselves laughing having snot tissue fights with his tissue, while it may be gross to some, its a moment for me..Its my Christmas..While I feel like Ive been beat up, hog tied and beat up again everytime I try to stand up, its my present to see that my son can smile at what he was fortunate enough to get even if mommy did have to give her kidneys, bladder, colon, and right eye...Merry CHRISTmas..and the blogs will come more often now..we will pick up where I was supposed to start off..oh and in the process of building a website for careers, resume, employment, work at home, etc etc..and shopping of course..

apologies

I apologize for my lack of presence, one of my cousins from Chicago was found dead the next morning by his wife. But I will be back full force in the next day or so after funeral arrangements have been made and all else has been settled, his mother is the oldest child of 15 kids, and my grandmother raised her sister's 6 kids..One thing about compassion, and I knew that I wasnt meant to be a nurse because of this, I always have found myself feeling a mother's pain when they have to bury their child. I have a son, but just the inkling of the thought, the It Could Be Me hypothesis..I dont know what I would do or where I would be if I ever had to do that, so my sympathy and heartfelt condolences go out to any parent, mother, grandmother, that has to experience that pain..My prayers are with you.

FREE TV

I ran across a site, that offers Free Web TV, they host NICK, USA, Cartoon Network, ABC, Animal Planet, a few ESPN's, Fox, FOX SPORTS, several other channels. A very interesting concept and its free. They do recommend that you have broadband or DSL, and I do as well.
You do have to download the software and from there I am unsure what happens. I have yet to see any complaints about the site as I get all the channels already. here it is.. Free Web-TV
The front of the site may look a little scary and odd, but take a look around and it gets better.
